Shilajit resin emerges from rocks in high mountains such as the Himalayas during hot seasons. It is formed over many centuries by the decomposition of plant substances in the soil and accumulates as mineral-rich resin in rock crevices.

Shilajit resin has a deep black, resinous consistency and is considered the purest and most powerful form of shilajit or mumijo.
