Life Embraced - Tarn Taran Singh CD

Tarn Taran Singh says about his album Life Embraced:

"It’s been over six years since my last CD, so I wanted to do something a little different. As usual, there are three new mantras – simple tunes with melodious instrumentation. Lean back and relax or sit up straight and meditate. Listen or sing along. They will calm the mind and uplift your spirit.

While I think you will enjoy the mantras, these days you have so many beautiful mantra voices to choose from (and if you like my style, you’ve already got other CDs from me to choose from). So I am doing something different this time and sharing a few of the songs I have written over the years. They are expressions of how I personally experience and process some of our deepest human emotions as I journey down my Dharmic path.

'The Blues Come Easy' when the pain and sorrow of the world seem overwhelming. Then your emotions can burst into joy and amazement when you jump-start that Kundalini energy at the base of the spine: 'Kundalini Curled Up'.
And you can transcend the bitter sweetness of the journey through time and constant change: 'Life Embraced', when you remember that at your essence, you are one with infinite and unchanging One.

The final cut lay hidden in a corner of my hard drive for many years. It’s one keyboard, two guitars and three guys sitting around a mike in ancient basement one block from the Colosseum in Rome, singing to Guru Ram Das. There was only one take and it’s a little rough around the edges, but I love it.
It reveals the musical gifts of Saribjit Singh and Jiwan Singh, and the rich harmony of their male voices. This track is precious to me as a manifestation of our musical and spiritual embrace. Though it catches just a moment in time, when I listen to it I am swept into the eternity of that moment.

The cover for this CD is also a little different – it has my picture on it – and I admit that I like it. This was at my daughter’s insistence (thank you, Madhur Nain). The cover photo was taken in China, back photo in Rome, and the middle panel in Mexico.
