Licorice root consists of the unpeeled, dried roots and the offshots of Glycyrrhiza glabra Linné.
Licorice root contains for example potassium and calciumsalts of the glycyrrhizinic acid (= glycyrrhizin) and flavonoids. Because of its armoatic and sweet taste, licorice root is perfect for tasty spice blends such as the one used in Yogi Tea. Licorice root is the basis for the production of black licorice.
In traditional culture, licorice root is used for the daily tooth-care.
