Ginger is a spicy ingredient in curries, curry powders, chutneys and sauces. By its soft and strong flavour a hint of ginger is also very popular in pastries, cakes, liqueurs, punch, and like a tea - for example Yogi Tea. Taken with honey, ginger tea is recognized as a home remedy for coughs and colds.
The zingiberene and gingerol content, fresh or dried ginger root, native from Asia, has been appreciated for millennia. Ginger is a warming spice that, according to Ayurveda, strength agni (digestive fire) without increasing Pitta (fire and water elements).
