Mulberries look like blackberries and are refreshingly sweet, tart and delicious, similar in taste to a grapefruit. Mulberry trees can become very large and as old as olive trees. They grow in Turkey, for example, and there are many different varieties with different colored fruits. The berries mostly dry on the tree and are then harvested together with the not yet dried mulberries. Then they are sorted by hand and dried in the sun.
Mulberries are unique in their nutrient composition and provide an impressive selection of vitamins, fiber, minerals and antioxidants.
The white organic mulberry is a real "super berry" and rich source of plant proteins. During their maturation, the mulberries form valuable plant nutrient compounds such as polyphenol pigments, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. They are also distinguished by a high amount of secondary plant substances. Mulberries are also highly valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine because of their positive properties.
The white organic mulberries taste delicious from the hand, or in smoothies, muesli and yogurt. For children, they are a healthy and nutritious snack, comparable to raisins.
