Pimento is a pepper that comes from the tropical islands of Central America, grown mostly in Jamaica. The taste of the peppers suggests clove aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and mace.
Also known as the Allspice, it is found as a seasoning in many dishes from the Middle East and it is mainly used for fillings, therefore in Turkey it is also called Dolma Bahar.
