Surya Namaskar, the Sanskrit name for the Sun Salutation, is traditionally practised at sunrise or shortly before sunrise. The face is turned towards the sun. The Surya Namaskar exercise sequence consists of a cycle of different movements which are being performed in alignment to the breath. The Sun Salutation stimulates the hormonal balance and the Chakras, the energy centers of the body.

Through the Chakras flows the Prana, the cosmic life energy, and nurtures our total self with that life force. With the exercise of the Surya Namaskar Sun Salutation all energies are being harmonized and aligned, so we can feel refreshed and full of energy. All joints are being moved, all muscles are worked and stretched. In our modern times, we can do the Sun Salutation not only after getting up in the morning, but also at any time throughout the day.

The music of Kai Franz is ideal for practicing the Surya Namaskar Sun Salutation. In soft and rhythmic sequences you are musically supported and inspired for the exercise and movements.
