Jaggery is a natural, unrefined raw cane sugar that is used in traditional Indian and ayurvedic cuisine and is characterised by an aromatic, unadulterated taste. In Hindi, it is also called "Gur".
Jaggery Cubes "Pesi Gur" from Schani are produced in the Kohlapuri region in the Indian state of Maharashtra and are natural, flavoured raw cane sugar cubes, ideal for Indian Ayurvedic cuisine.
Due to its naturalness, Jaggery still contains a proportion of important minerals and trace elements, such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, niacin, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid.
