Cosmoveda organic Tamarind Paste is a delicious, sweet-sour component of chutneys and condiments. Tamarind Paste gives indian sauces a light brown color and a typical sweet-sour taste.
The pulp of the legumes of the Tamarindus indica (Tamarind, Makham) tree, which origins in East Africa and is cultivated also in Asia and India, contains plant acids, sugar and potassium. It is mostly used for supporting a balanced digestion. The mild, slightly sweet-sour taste makes Tamarind a desired classic in the Indian-Asian cuisine.
In the tradition of Ayurveda, Tamarind Paste is used to stimulate Agni, the "digestive fire" without bringing the Pitta Dosha out of balance, since above all other acidifiers like vinegar, Tamarind paste has a very mild and balanced acidity.
