About prebooking items

The Kara, a special bracelet, is handcrafted in Amritsar, India and is made of 100 % stainless steel. Its high polish is achieved without the use of chemicals or chrome plating. The Kara is hypo-allergenic, rust proof, and guaranteed to arrive without imperfections.

This Kara is available in the following sizes:

  • Size: XS – inner diameter approximately 5,8 cm.
  • Size: S – inner diameter approximately 6,4 cm.
  • Size: M – inner diameter approximately 7,3 cm.
  • Size: L – inner diameter approximately 7,7 cm.
  • Size: XL – inner diameter approximately 8,2 cm.

(The weight of each size may vary slightly, depending on the size.)

This Kara is engraved by hand both on the inside and on the outside, each with a mantra written in Gurmukhi, a language which is based on the 4,000-year-old Sanskrit.

This Kara is flat, but wider, which gives it a stable yet very aesthetic presence. This makes it possible to engrave both, the entire Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru Shabad and the entire Re Man Shabd on the outside and inside of this Kara. Due to these two demanding engravings, this Kara is very precious!

The engraved Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru Shabad on the outside of this Kara:

(shown here in "Roman" - the engraving is written in Gurmukhi)
Dhan dhan Raam Daas Gur, Jin siriaa tinai savaariaa.
Pooree ho-ee karaamaat, Aap sir-jin-haarai dhaariaa.
Sikhee atai sangatee, Paarbrahm kar namasakaariaa.
Atal athaaho atol too, Tayraa ant na paaraavaari-aa.
Jinee too sayvi-aa bhaa-o kar, Say tudh paar ootaari-aa.
Labh lobh kaam krodh moho, Maar kadhay tudh saparvaari-aa.
Dhan so tayraa thaan hai, Sach tayraa paisakaari-aa.
Naanak too lehnaa too hai, Gur amar too veechaari-aa.
Gur dithaa taa man saadhaaria.

The Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru Shabad represents healing, devotion, heart energy and love.

The engraved Re Man Shabd on the inside this Kara:

(shown here in "Roman" - the engraving is written in Gurmukhi)
Re-man eh bidh jog kamaa-o.
Singee saach akapat kanthalaa dhi-aan bibhoot charaa-o.
Taatee gaho aatam bas kar kee bhichhaa naam adhaarang.
Baajay param taar tat har ko upajai raag rasaarang.
Ughatai taan tarang rang at gi-aan geet bandhaanang.
Chak chak rehay dayv daanav mun chhak chhak bayom bivaanang.
Aatam upadays bhays sanjam ko jaap so ajapaa jaapai.
Sadaa rehai kanchan see kaayaa kaal na kabahoo(n) bayaapai.

The Re Man Shabad provides a "Golden Aura", it stands for perfect health, universal protection and prosperity.

History and use of a Kara:
The Kara is originally a bracelet made of iron or steel and was first given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Master, in 1699 as one of the 5 K's of the Sikhs - a powerful protection and radiant symbol for the one who wears it.
A circle with no beginning and no end, the Kara represents man’s unbreakable relationship with the eternal creator and the Infinity. The steel or iron is a reminder of the strength of the bond which unites us together and ultimately to the Divine.

A Kara is not only a spiritual or religious garment, it is a powerful jewel of radiance, enhancing your personality and presence. In the science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, the Kara is also valued for its energetic-magnetic effects on the Aura – strengthening the male or active energy when worn on the right hand, and the female or more receptive energy when worn on the left hand.
